Family and migration history course in Ballymena

The following Queens University Open Learning Course is taking place at Ballymena Central Library, Ballymena, County Antrim, for five months commencing October 8th 2011.

Family, Community and Migration History

This course will be held in the Local Studies Section of Ballymena Central Library, 5 Pat's Brae, Ballymena, Co Antrim, BT43 5AX, on the following dates: Saturday 8th October, 5th November, 3rd December, 4th February and 3rd March. It costs £87 per person (concession £54).

The aim of the course is to enable participants to explore the relationship between family, local and community, and migration history, and to develop as active researchers with improved skills in presenting findings both orally and in writing. It will be delivered by local historians, Dr. Eull Dunlop (Ballymena Borough Council) Dr. William Roulston (Ulster Historical Foundation), Dr. Patrick Fitzgerald (National Museums of Northern Ireland) and Dr. Brian Lambkin (Centre for Migration Studies at the Ulster-American Folk Park).
