British Postal Museum and Archive "safe"

A letter in today's Guardian states that the British Postal Archive is safe, despite an article in the paper on September 28th claiming the contrary. The letter, by Jon Millidge, Company secretary, Royal Mail Group, and Adrian Steel, Director, British Postal Museum and Archive, outlines legal protections that have been put in place to protect the archive. It also adds that Royal Mail Group currently contributes £2 million a year to the BPMA. Is that funding permanently guaranteed though?

The letter can be read at www.guardian.co.uk/society/2011/sep/27/british-postal-museum-archive-under-threat

(With thanks to Perth and Kinross Archives @pkcarchive on twitter)
