British Newspaper Archive site launch "imminent"

There's been no formal announcement as yet, but Brightsolid has just retweeted a post by MP Ed Vaizey, Minister for Culture, Communications and Creative Industries, that the British Newspaper Archive website launch at www.britishnewspaperarchive.com is "imminent":

Great to have support of Ed Vaizey RT @edvaizey Visit to British Library to learn of imminent launch of @BNArchive

A further tweet from Vaizey:

Searched archive for Wantage; learned of disappointment at departure of Mr Leek, the landlord of the Bear Hotel, in 1903

A " sneak preview" is being offered this Sunday November 6th at Dundee Science Festival, but no word whether this is of the website or a powerpoint presentation as offered in Dublin recently.

Keep your eyes peeled - should be happening soon!

UPDATE 4 NOV: The first batch of papers will be going online this month, according to the British Newspaper Archive newsletter (with thanks to John Reid at Anglo-Celtic Connections)
