Birmingham Reference Library restrictions

Thanks to Beryl Evans at the Federation of Family History Societies (www.ffhs.org.uk), and to her informant, Rob White, for the following:

Due to the building of the new Birmingham Reference Library to be opened in 2013, there are restrictions on access to some of the services, the Archives section on the 6th floor included.

From Monday 12 December 2011, the opening hours for the Archives and Heritage open access service on floor 6 will be:
Wednesday 10am – 6pm
Thursday 10am – 6pm
Friday 10am – 6pm
Saturday Closed

This is due to staffing levels and the need to begin preparing our collections for the Library of Birmingham.

It is also essential to book in advance to use the archives searchroom. For further information please visit the website http://www.birmingham.gov.uk/cs/Satellite/localstudieslibrary?packedargs=website%3D4&rendermode=live
