Jamaican Church of England records

Family Search has recently added a Jamaican Church of England parish registers index from 1664-1880 to its databases - previously the records were available as waypointed digitised images only.

Search the collection at https://familysearch.org/search/collection/show#uri=http://hr-search-api:8080/searchapi/search/collection/1827268

  1. Hi Im looking to garner information about my great great grandfather Duanie Laurence/Lawrence who was baptised on the 7th February 1819 in the parish of St Thomas in the East, Jamaica. Im hoping to find information on his birth parents, who in the only record, so far found about Duanie, refer to both his parents as Laurence and Laurence. No first names. Im also hoping to find information regarding my great grandfather Abraham Laurence, Duanie's son who was baptised in 1847. Where Im unsure, but I presume it may well have been the same parish as his parents. He married my great grandmother Alice Jones, in Liverpool England in 1870, after arriving in Liverpool in the late 1860's. We don't have a great deal of information regarding our Jamaican heritage. Any advice would be both great and very much appreciated.
