Camden archive services cuts

Camden Local Studies and Archives Centre (http://tinyurl.com/awpsw) will have reduced opening hours from Monday April 2nd. The new hours will be:

• Monday 10am to 6pm (reduced by an hour, currently open to 7pm)
• Tuesday 10am to 6pm (reduced by an hour, currently open to 7pm)
• Wednesday closed (no change)
• Thursday 10am to 7pm (no change)
• Friday appointment only (currently 10am-7pm)
• Saturday 11am to 5pm on alternate weeks (currently 10am-5pm every week)

This follows a mass of cuts to library services in Camden. From the council website at www.camden.gov.uk/ccm/navigation/leisure/libraries-and-online-learning-centres/

"From Monday 2 April there will be changes to a number of library services including new opening hours at most Camden libraries. The Council needs to deliver a savings programme of £83m following cuts in government funding, this includes a reduction of £2 million from the libraries budget."
