A Saint Patrick's Day offer from the Ulster Historical Foundation (www.ancestryireland.com):

Save 25% on BDM records for Antrim & Down (Members save 50%), new burial records and 10+ new member-only databases

For 48 hour period over the coming weekend, (Midnight on Friday 16th to midnight on Sunday 18th March), we have decided to reduce substantially the cost of accessing individual records by 50% for Guild members, and 25% for non-members. This marvellous offer will only be running for the two days so we do hope you will take advantage of the opportunity.

We have just added another 11,000 burial records to our pay-per-view databases. These databases were prepared by our former Research Director, Dr Brian Trainor... The churches covered include:
  • Ballinderry CI, Co. Antrim - 1840-65
  • Ballymena CI, Co. Antrim - 1780-1836, 1841-71
  • Ballymoney CI, Co. Antrim - 1807-88
  • Ballynure CI, Co. Antrim - 1840-80
  • Ballywillin CI, Co. Antrim - 1827-71
  • Finvoy CI, Co. Antrim - 1811-85
  • Layde CI, Co. Antrim - 1824-72
  • Aghaderg CI, Co. Down - 1816-86
  • Aghalee CI, Co. Antrim - 1811-74
  • Christ Church CI, Belfast - 1857-1902
  • Dromore CI, Co. Down - 1784-1873
  • Drumballyroney CI, Co. Down - 1839-73
  • Magheragall CI, Co. Antrim - 1825-42
  • Ballyclug CI, Co. Antrim - 1841-71
  • Glenavy CI, Co. Antrim - 1707-1840

We are pleased to report that the names of teachers in all nine counties of Ulster, listed in the appendix to the report of the Commission of Irish Education Enquiry, 1826-27, have now been uploaded and may be viewed by members for free on our website . The second report of the Commission of Irish Education Enquiry, 1826-27, listed all the schools then operating in Ireland. The appendix detailed the name of the schoolmaster, the location of the school, the type of building in which classes were held and the means by which the school was supported financially, thus providing a fascinating insight into local education provision in Ireland at this time.
