Conserving teachers' salary books

The National Archives of Ireland (www.nationalarchives.ie) has an interesting conservation feature explaining how it rescued eight badly damaged teachers salary books from an attack of mould. The books contain the details of salary payments to all teachers employed under the Irish National School system from 1834–1918.
