Irish burial records on Ancestry

Ancestry has a new search screen for a collection entitled Ireland: Burial Index 1600-1927, online at http://search.ancestry.co.uk/search/db.aspx?dbid=70578. There is little source information other than to say that the information has been lifted from the Republic's Department of Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht collection from http://churchrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/, last accessed by Ancestry on 19 February 2012. 293306 records are included. As with the Kerry burial records last week, the search results link to the Irish Genealogy site, with the collection itself not hosted on Ancestry (though I've been having problems connecting through to the original data).

  2. Sorry, had to hammer it out before 7.20 train this morning. Noticed earlier but can't amend blogger posts using Safari on my iPad. So changed now after many hours!

Will try to do better next time...!
