The British Library is hosting a talk entitled A Time and a Place: Where English Came To Be, on Tuesday 18th September 2012, from 6.30pm-8pm (£7.50/£5 concessions). To be given by David Crystal, the talk ties in with a forthcoming book entitled "Wordsmiths and Warriors" by both David and Hilary Crystal, and looks at significant events across Britain which influenced the shape and study of the English language.
