Emergency Bread Exercise in radioactive Ulster

PRONI's document of the month is an amazing once confidential document from the United Co-operative Baking Society in 1953/1954, outlining how bread centres would be set up in Northern Ireland in the aftermath of an atomic bomb strike on Belfast.

It's an extraordinary item that can be viewed at www.proni.gov.uk/index/exhibitions_talks_and_events/document_of_the_month.htm - the story behind it is at www.proni.gov.uk/news_details.htm?newsRef=3212.
