Suffolk Record Office opening hours survey

Via the Federation of Family History Societies (www.ffhs.org.uk):

From 10 March to 4 April 2014, Suffolk County Council is seeking views on the proposal to change Suffolk Record Office opening hours.

Suffolk County Council is committed to combining onsite access to original archives with an on-line 24/7 service to collections’ information and some popular digitised collections. In this way it hopes to be able to continue to serve current users, engage with new and different users and to provide a service that’s more joined up with other heritage organisations and local communities of interest. It proposes using record office resources more effectively by opening 35hrs a week; offering full access to collections from 10.00-17.00 Monday - Tuesday and Thursday - Saturday. This will improve the service on a Saturday and release capacity for cataloguing, inputting and digitisation on Wednesdays. You can find all information relating to this consultation on the county council’s website: http://www.suffolk.gov.uk/your-council/decision-making/consultations/suffolk-record-office-opening-hours-consultation/

We value your views and encourage you to have your say by completing the online survey at: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/RECORDOFFICEOPENINGHOURS

Responses must be received by 4 April 2014.

Please pass this message on to your networks.

Thank you for your help.
