Many subscribers to the new version of FindmyPast (www.findmypast.co.uk) have been up in arms over the recent changes imposed to the system - see http://britishgenes.blogspot.co.uk/2014/04/new-findmypast-goes-down-like-lead.html.
Who Do You Think You Are magazine's Jon Bauckham has now announced on the magazine's forum that the results of a Q&A session with FindmyPast will be published fairly soon, hopefully by Monday. He is requesting that readers' questions be submitted to him as soon as possible on the forum at www.whodoyouthinkyouaremagazine.com/forum/topic10499-20.html or by email to him directly via jon.bauckham @ immediate.co.uk.

I could weep at the unravelling of findmypast. It has changed beyond recognition. The appeal of the old site was the simplicity of the searches and simple accurate results. No more. RIP findmypast
ReplyDeleteSo much more work involved to find BMD records, Census records - anything in fact. Site very cumbersome - a few clicks would have found the answer before - now it is numerous clicks. I cannot see one benefit from the change. I certainly won't be renewing my subscription in October unless the format changes back to how it was. No doubt the Champagne corks at Ancestry are popping in anticipation at all the new customers they will sign up.
