PRONI updates YouTube listings page and launches cycling exhibition

Latest news from the Public Record Office of Northern Ireland (www.proni.gov.uk):

Firstly we would like to announce that our defined Youtube page is being streamlined to allow for simpler access to videos and recordings of our public events. We hope that the clear layout and descriptions included in this page will make it easier to navigate, and allow for users to revisit past talks and catch up on ones that they missed. This page will be updated fully later today.

We would also like to mention that PRONI has now fully embraced the spirit of the Giro d'Italia! Given that many of the world's premiere cyclists will pass by our own doorstep at the end of this week, we have taken the opportunity to uncover some of the gems from our archival collections connected to the history of cycling. The best of these documents and images can now been viewed in a small pop-up exhibition in our atrium space. This display will be available for viewing until the end of May, so don't forget to take a look next time you visit!

If you are unable to make it in, then we have also made an online 'highlight reel' of images of this exhibition available on our website for your enjoyment. These are grouped by the exhibition themes and are yet another testament to the sheer scale, variety and eccentricity of PRONI's archive collections.

NB: PRONI will be closed from 3.15pm on Friday May 9th due to road closures associated with the Giro d'Italia Big Start 2014.
