Glasnevin Cemetery First World War centenary exhibition

Glasnevin Cemetery Museum (www.glasnevintrust.ie) in Dublin is now hosting a First World War Centenary Exhibition until October 2015. From the museum:

Experience World War 1 through the lives of those buried in Glasnevin Cemetery

In May 2014 Glasnevin Cemetery Museum appealed to members of the public to come forward with artefacts and heirlooms relating to Ireland’s involvement in the First World War. The response was overwhelming and the range of objects and stories brought out into public for the first time gave a unique insight into the history of Ireland during that period.

Topics include
  • We Will Remember Them
  • Acts of Gallantry
  • Women of WW1
  • The War in the Air
  • Gallipoli
  • Faces of the War
  • The War at Sea
  • Monuments to the Fallen

"A unique visit"

Remembering the Irish who fought in World War 1, the exhibition features never before seen artefacts as well as incredible stories. It has received remarkable reviews as well as International attention.

Alongside the exhibition we offer special guided WW1 Tours for groups of Glasnevin Cemetery plus learning resources catered towards Schools, Educational & Family visits.
