NRS schools programme 2012-2013

The National Records of Scotland (www.nrscotland.gov.uk) has launched its 2012-13 programme of free workshops and Glow Meet sessions for primary and secondary schools. From the archive's news page:

Teachers and pupils are welcome to visit General Register House for a two-hour workshop or, if travel is an issue, book a Glow Meet web-conferencing session instead.

New topics include 'What is the Census?' and 'Newhaven Families'. Secondary school teachers might be interested in 'Study Skills - an introduction to using primary sources' and workshops that support the Higher History Scottish Units: The Wars of Independence, 1286-1328; The Age of Reformation, 1542-1603; The Treaty of Union, 1689-1740; Migration and Empire, 1830-1939 and The Impact of the Great War, 1914-1928.

Full details of the programme and the booking form are available on the NRS's Scottish Archives for Schools website at www.scottisharchivesforschools.org.
