Irish Landed Estate records on FamilySearch

FamilySearch (www.familysearch.org) has added indexes to its site for FindmyPast Ireland's Landed Estate Court Rentals 1850-1885 collection, released well over a year ago - you'll find them in the United Kingdom and Ireland section. The indexes are fully searchable and return details such as name, year of sale and event type - you then need to look at FindmyPast Ireland for the original image (www.findmypast.ie). For more on the collection see FindmyPast Ireland's explanation at www.findmypast.ie/articles/world-records/full-list-of-the-irish-family-history-records/census-land-and-substitutes/landed-estates-court-rentals-1850-1885.

Expect to see more from Ireland on FamilySearch in due course - the team was recently involved with the National Archives of Ireland's probate calendars collection from 1858-1922 (soon to join www.genealogy.nationalarchives.ie), and also with PRONI's efforts to digitise Revaluation Books for its VAL/12B collections, which will continue the property stories from Griffiths Valuation up to 1930 (soon to go online at www.proni.gov.uk).
