It looks Ancestry (www.ancestry.co.uk) has been moved into playing a little game of catch up following the recent launch of the Irish civil registration indexes collection on FindmyPast Ireland (www.findmypast.ie).
As with FindmyPast's presentation of civil marriage indexes from 1845-1958, Ancestry has now introduced a keyword search facility to its version of the collection, allowing you to also input the name of a spouse as a search term, and thereby to allow searches for marriages by two surnames, considerably narrowing down the possibilities.
The Ancestry search screen for the collection is available at http://search.ancestry.co.uk/search/db.aspx?dbid=2572
