The American incarnation of FindmyPast website (www.findmypast.com) has launched a major new collection of US based newspapers, which includes titles from several other countries. In total some 5350 publications are included.
From the site, some of the blurb:
Our US & World newspaper collections provide access to nearly 120 million pages from newspapers published in all 50 states, Washington, D.C., Panama, and the Virgin Islands. Titles include a variety of local papers, as well as national publications, including the New York Times and the Washington Post.
Global historical newspapers from China, Denmark, France, Germany, Jamaica, and South Africa are also searchable within the collection.
The site also now has 8.7 million service records of personnel who served with the US army from 1938-1946.

Presumably the US Newspaper collection must come from another source as it is taking Brightsolid 10 years to digitise 40 million pages in the UK.
