From the site:
Acts such as the Medical Practitioners Act of 1869, the Nurses Registration Act of 1901, and the Midwives Registration Act of 1904 required that a register be kept of legally qualified medical practitioners. These registers were then published yearly in the New Zealand Gazette. This database is a collection of those pages from the Gazette for various years. You’ll find names, qualifications, and residences listed for physicians, surgeons, nurses, midwives, and other medical practitioners.
