National Library of Wales website revamped

The National Library of Wales website at has had a revamp. The key resources are now accessible via the menu bar at the top, under the headings Catalogues, Visit, About Us, Services and Collections. The e-resources on the site are now accessible via the first heading, Catalogues.

I have been having some problems locating some collections - Welsh marriage bonds for example are accessible directly at, but it's taken a while to work out how to do so if I approach the site for the first time. It looks like you do so via the Full Catalogue, but you have to save the search criteria in the left column before doing a search on the main page - i.e. click on Marriage Bonds, click Save, then search for the name desired. Might take a wee bit of getting used to!

My latest genealogy books are Tracing Your Family History on the Internet (2nd ed), Discover Scottish Civil Registration Records, and Tracing Your Irish Family History on the Internet. My next Pharos course is Scotland 1750-1850: Beyond the OPRs, which commences May 14th 2014, 5 weeks, price £45.99.
