Belfast shipbuilding: not just Titanic

I must admit that as someone who gets easily bored with celebrity subjects that today's media flags up as worthy and then concentrates on at the expense of everything else for an apparent eternity, I am really close to having my fair fill on the Titanic. I am much more interested in those who not only helped to build the vessel, but also others in Belfast, with many of my own ancestors massively engaged in the industry for over a century.

A new BBC web portal on the Titanic at www.bbc.co.uk/news/17488357 thankfully gets beyond the boring stuff (boat hits iceberg, it doesn't work out) and also looks at the history of Belfast, and the shipbuilding industry in the city. Interesting links found on the site include www.bbc.co.uk/history/topics/belfast_golden_age_shipbuilding, www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-northern-ireland-17554177 and www.libraryireland.com/Belfast-History/Shipbuilding.php.
