Ireland's Military Archives (www.militaryarchives.ie) has released the second phase of its Military Service (1916-1923) Pensions Collection (MSPC). The collection details the service given by members of the Old IRA and the original Free State Army during this period, as well as other groups, who were involved in the armed struggle that saw Ireland eventually freed from its 120 year membership of the United Kingdom, and the civil war that ensued shortly after.
From the site:
Phase 2 from the MSPC consists of files relating to 1,158 veterans of the period from Easter Week 1916 to 30 September 1923. In addition there are 77 files dealing with administration matters and the process of awarding pensions under the Act, 1934.
