Down and Out in Scotland talk in Toronto

A little something I'll be getting up to next month in Toronto!

A SPECIAL SCOTTISH FAMILY HISTORY LECTURE AT NORTH YORK CENTRAL LIBRARY!
Jointly sponsored by the Toronto Branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society and the Toronto Public Library

Down and Out in Scotland: Researching Ancestral Crisis

It is often the case in family history research that our ancestors’ lives were best documented when the chips were truly down. We may have had ancestors in poverty or in debt, with mental health issues or illnesses, who were assaulted, murdered, raped, who committed suicide, engaged in insurgency, or who were punished by the state or the Kirk. No matter the crisis, a quill and ink were always in close proximity.
Speaker: Chris Paton

Course Fee: $25 ($20 for OGS Members)
Schedule: Friday, September 18, 2015, 3:00pm – 5:00pm
Venue: North York Central Library, Room 1, 5120 Yonge Street, Toronto
