Canadian War of 1812 database launched

Library and Archives Canada (www.bac-lac.gc.ca) has launched a new database on resources concerning the War of 1812, with records on Canadian participants in the conflict, a two and a half year conflict which involved forces from the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom, and which was considered by many in the United States to be its second war of independence.

A list of the records contained in the database is available at www.bac-lac.gc.ca/eng/discover/military-heritage/war-of-1812/Pages/introduction.aspx, whilst the database itself can be searched at www.bac-lac.gc.ca/eng/discover/military-heritage/war-of-1812/Pages/search.aspx.
