Thanks to Roger Lewry of the Federation of Family History Societies (www.ffhs.org.uk) for the following notice from Worcestershire Record Office:
Worcestershire Record Office is currently in the process of preparing to move premises to the Hive, based in the centre of Worcester. On 14th November 2011 our County Hall branch will close to the public in order to allow for work to be carried out to ensure a smooth and successful move. We will re-open as a joint archives and archaeology service at our new home in July 2012.
Our History Centre branch will remain open until April 2012.
The public can keep fully up-to-date with the progress of our move by following our new blog 'Worcestershire Archives on the Move' at: www.worcestershirearchives.blogspot.com , which will be updated throughout the entire closure period.
Up to the 10th February 2012 we will continue to answer postal, email and telephone enquiries as usual in accordance with Worcestershire Record Office's enquiries policy. From the 11th February to 28th May 2012 a limited enquiry service will be provided whilst our collections are moved. After 28th May our usual enquiry service will resume. More information on the service offered throughout this period can be found on our website: www.worcestershire.gov.uk/cms/records/the-new-wlhc/the-hive.aspx .
