Google Street View in 3D

It's amazing the things you discover by accident! Whilst looking over the Google Maps facility ( for the maps section of my next book on online Irish resources, I've inadvertently stumbled across the fact that Google Street View offers a 3D mode! I have no idea how long this has been available - it may have been for years! - but it provides ridiculously silly fun. The image below is of Synnott Row in the north of Dublin, where my three times great gran used to live many moons ago.

To make an image 3D, right click on the image with your mouse and tick '3D mode on'. You'll need the weird red and green glasses to view. Lots of fun!

Tracing Your Irish Family History on the Internet - coming soon, and in 3D :)
