National Heritage Week in Ireland

Saturday 18th to Saturday 26th August 2012 sees National Heritage Week (www.heritageweek.ie) taking place across the Republic of Ireland (and a handful of events in the north), with over 1500 events taking place across the country. A sort of Doors Open week, history festival, cultural appreciation and archaeological heritage exploration all in one, there should be something here to keep you amused in a quiet moment!

For a flavour of what to expect, here's the official television advert:

To access events in your area, visit your county's listings via the interactive map at www.heritageweek.ie/index.php/whats-on/event-search.
