TNA podcast - coroners inquests

The National Archives latest podcast from Kew concerns coroners inquests, the enquiries carried out in England, Wales and Northern Ireland in the event of sudden death. The podcast is a lecture given by Kathy Chater and lasts just under 55 minutes. It can be accessed at or downloaded from iTunes.

(NB: Scotland does not use coroners. Instead, sudden deaths are investigated by the procurator fiscal, whilst some Fatal Accident Enquiries have been held since 1895 through the sheriff courts - for more on these see
