North Yorkshire County Record Office - restricted service

From Keith Sweetmore of North Yorkshire County Record Office (www.northyorks.gov.uk/article/23584/County-record-office), via the Federation of Family History Societies (www.ffhs.org.uk):

During the first part of 2014 the North Yorkshire County Record Office in Northallerton will offer a restricted service while roof strengthening work takes place.

We will close on Tuesday 24 December at 4pm and re-open with a temporary search room and a limited service on Monday 20 January 2014. For several weeks following, the self-service microfilm facilities will be reduced and access to original documents will be limited. We regret the inconvenience caused and will announce the resumption of normal service, which we hope will be in March, as soon as details are known.

It is particularly important during this time that all users make an appointment to visit and that all original documents are ordered in advance.
