Not too long ago the Commonwealth War Graves Commission (www.cwgc.org) released an extensive amount of documentation concerning those who fell in the First World War on the Allied side. The CWGC has also now announced that its Second World War records will also be made available in August this year, to coincide with the 70th anniversary of VJ Day. The records will include personal headstone inscriptions, date of death, rank, regiment and documents which show the journeys of some of the deceased to their final resting places.
For further news of the development, please visit http://www.cwgc.org/news-events/news/2015/5/ww2-casualty-archive-documents-shared-online.aspx.
(With thanks to the CWGC)
