You learn something new every day! Although the 1911 Irish census has been digitised and made available on www.census.nationalarchives.ie I had no idea that one small part of the census was badly damaged with mould prior to its digitisation, a fact which is of even more interest to me as it concerns part of my home county of Antrim, in the town of Antrim itself.
The National Archives of Ireland has a document online outlining how the 250 forms affected were reclaimed and conserved prior to their digitsation - fascinating stufgf, and available at www.nationalarchives.ie/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/1911CensusConservation.pdf
(With thanks to @learnaboutarchives)
