Thank you for this post, Chris. Will the Huddersfield Registry Office have records for all of West Yorkshire? My g-grandmother was born in Bradford in 1852 (1861 UK Census); her father in Little Horton, Bradford in 1821 (1851 UK census); and her mother in Huddersfield in 1815 (1851 UK census). Her mother also died in W. Yorkshire between 1852 and 1858. Can the Huddersfield Registry Office help me?
ReplyDeleteYour blog has been very helpful and I'm thankful to have discovered it. Thank you for keeping us informed about genealogy news in your part of the world. I appreciate it.
Best bet is to contact them and ask Nancy - not my patch I'm afraid! They should certainly be able to direct you to the right place though, if not them.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Chris. I did a little search for the Registrar after I wrote my comment and found some information online. I'll see what I can find. I appreciate your responding.
