Northern Ireland WW2 mobilisation conference and book

From PRONI (www.proni.gov.uk) in Belfast:

To mark the publication of Dr Phillip Ollerenshaw’s new book Northern Ireland in the Second World War: Politics, Economic mobilisation and Society, 1939-45 PRONI will be hosting a half day conference looking at various aspects of life in Northern Ireland during the Second World War. 

Following the conference there will also be a book launch. Speakers include: Dr Brian Barton on the Belfast Blitz; William Butler on the Ulster Home Guard; Ian Montgomery on Short & Harland; and Dr Ollerenshaw on Politics, Economic Mobilisation and Society. There will also be a screening of the film ‘The Story of the Ulster Guard’. The conference will be chaired by Dr Tim Bowman).
