National Library of Wales - fire report

The National Library of Wales ( has uploaded a statement from Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service concerning the recent fire at the facility. It transpires that the cause was most likely a blow torch being used to warm the roof covering on the edge of the Third Library Building Offices roof, in order to facilitate its removal with hand scrapers, which it seems accidentally ignited the timber behind.
