Arrived in Vancouver

I arrived in Vancouver on Saturday afternoon for the start of a two week talks tour across Vancouver Island and mainland BC. I spent most of yesterday 'on a dander', as the saying goes in Ulster - just traveling about and taking in the sites, from the University of BC, including its libraries (where I bought a brilliant wee book second hand on inheritance law across mainland Europe, for just $2!)  and Museum of Anthropology, to Granville Island and a walk along the sea wall, narrowly avoiding the Vancouver Sun Run fun runners! Lots o sea planes flying over head, mountains to the rear, sun up above, it's all looking rather civilised! This afternoon I am crossing over to Vancouver Island to give my first talk this evening at Nanaimo, which I am very much looking forward to.

A huge thanks to my hosts in Vancouver, Don and Gerald, for some great conversation, sites, food and wine!
