Christmases past exhibition in Edinburgh

The National Records of Scotland (www.nas.gov.uk) has an exhibition detailing how Scots have celebrated Christmas over the centuries. From the NRS website:

From the selected documents you can find out how sixteenth century kirk sessions viewed festivities, glimpse how people celebrated Christmas in days gone by and learn how many Scots have been given festive names.

Perhaps your family tree includes someone named 'Christmas'?

The free display runs from 3 December 2012 - 18 January 2013, Monday - Friday 9:00 - 4:30, in General Register House. Please note that the National Records of Scotland will be closed on 25 and 26 December 2012 and on 1 and 2 January 2013.
