Thousand year old settlement excavated in Fermanagh

Archaeologists have revealed the excavated remains of 30 properties in the first crannog settlement to be excavated in Ulster in 50 years. To date some 4000 artefacts have been found at the site in Fermanagh, with evidence to suggest settlement from 600AD to 1600AD. The Belfast telegraph has the full story at
