Cornish heraldry

My new book, Tracing Your Irish Family History on the Internet, is now available from Pen and Sword. My next Pharos Scottish course, Scotland 1750-1850: Beyond the Old Parish Registers, starts May 15th - see Time to smash a few brick walls...!

  1. Ooh, a good bit of litgation!

The Chough, a bird of the crow family, is common charge in Cornish heraldry, and a symbol associated with King Arthur. According to legend, the king will rise again when the Chough returns to breed in Cornwall. The first to breed there recently did so in 2001.
