Mitchell Library forthcoming genealogy services disruption

The Mitchell Library in Glasgow is undergoing a major renovation just now, and as a consequence there will be some forthcoming disruption to its library and genealogy services. Here's the break down:

From 24 - 26 March the following services will be unavailable:
  • Family History Centre
  • Archives
  • Registrars Genealogy Service
  • Special Collections
  • General Services

These services will reopen at 9am on 27 March on the following levels -
  • Level 5: Family History Centre, Archives, Registrars Genealogy Service & Special Collections
  • Level 4: General Services
  • Levels 2 & 3 will remain closed until June 2014.

During this time there will be limited access to some of the library’s collections and only one of the customer passenger lifts will be operating at any one time. Please note that there will be no online reservations accepted for general stock for the duration of the closure.

To discuss how we can assist you to access our collections, please phone 0141 287 2999 in advance of your visit.
