Federation of Family History Societies awards at recent AGM

At the recent Federation of Family History Societies AGM at The National Archives, awards were presented to the Society submitting the Journal making the Best Contribution to Family History (Elizabeth Simpson Award), and the Society with the Best Website
(Geoff Riggs Award). The winners are listed at http://ffhs.org.uk/awards/journal/current.php and http://ffhs.org.uk/awards/web/current.php.

Congratulations to all the winners, and in particular to the overall winner for the Elizabeth Simpson Award, Oxfordshire FHS (see www.ofhs.org.uk/j/Oxfordshire-Family-Historian-April-2013-pp16.pdf for an example) - and for the Geoff Riggs Award winner, the Western Australia Genealogical Society Inc (aka WAGS for short!), online at www.wags.org.au.

It was also announced at the AGM that Marian French has stepped down after eight years as Chairman of FFHS Services Ltd, with the role now taken on by Francis Howcutt.

(With thanks to Wendy Archer)
