Ancestry to index more Belfast Newsletter intimations

Ancestry (www.ancestry.co.uk) has commenced a second phase of indexing for newspaper intimation entries within the Belfast Newsletter, via its World Archives Project.

The newspaper has long been available on the website in browse only format, with coverage from 1738-1925, but on October 12th 2015 it released a searchable index for intimations covering the period from 1828-1858 (see http://britishgenes.blogspot.co.uk/2015/10/belfast-newsletter-bmd-entries-1738.html). Although the next phase is under way, the project has not actually indicated what the period of coverage is currently being targeted.

Other projects being tackled just now are New South Wales, Australia, Colonial Secretary’s Papers, 1788-1856 (Part 1), Somerset, England, School Registers, 1860-1914, and USHMM – Poland, Łódź Ghetto Register Books, 1939-1944 (Part 4).
