History of Mental Health Belfast: Colony to Community
Wednesday 10 October 2012 From 10am 1pm
Venue: Knockbracken Hall
This year we will celebrate World Mental Health Day (October 10) by launching a unique historical exhibition, which will culminate in a major event planned for next year (2013).
The project will feature the historical developments in mental health care in Belfast from the last century to the present day.
Everyone is invited to take part in a historical interactive experience which follows the journey of mental health for both patients and staff featuring the highs and lows in this history.
Along with the photographs and artifacts on display there will be personal experiences
portrayed through poetry, drama and music.
Everyone is welcome to come along and bring their stories and memorabilia which will contribute to the final exhibition.
