The National Library of Scotland is running a new search service trial until February of next year, and wants to know what you think of it.
The search tool runs across a vast array of resource, some from the main site, others from its licensed digital area, and so on. A full list of resources included is available at www.nls.uk/search-trial/searchable-resources.
The main search tool itself is at http://nls.summon.serialssolutions.com/
The search allows you to search with limited criteria, but seems to be yet another site that insists that you go down the route of finding absolutely everything first before you then start to filter down through categories that might be of help. You can narrow down search terms to a degree from the Advanced Search function, but only to a certain extent. I think I need to play with a it a bit more to see how I feel about it, jury's out!
For more information on the trial visit www.nls.uk/search-trial.
(With thanks to the NLS)
