Teesdale Mercury archive online

A digitised archive for the Teesdale Mercury, one of the few remaining independent local newspapers in England, is now online and available for free. The newspaper has been published in Barnard Castle in Teesdale, County Durham, since July 1854. The archive extends to December 1954, and page images can be browsed or the text searched by keywords or phrases. The newspaper has been placed online by the volunteer run Teesdale Mercury Access Project.

To access the archive visit www.teesdalemercuryarchive.org.uk.
