Unlock the Past Scots/Irish Cruise

Australian based company Unlock the Past is organising a two week cruise of New Zealand and eastern Australia from November 21st - December 5th 2011. The cruise will be themed predominantly on Scottish and Irish research, and follows on from an earlier successful venture at the beginning of this year. There are still spaces available, with some brilliant price reductions for some of the rooms available.

I'm on the Unlock the Past talks team and will be going as the main Scottish speaker (and with a few other topics!), but there will also be presentations from Perry McIntyre, Richard Reid, Keith Johnson, Shauna Hicks, Jan Gow (NZ), and Rosemary Kopittke. The itinerary is as follows:

1. Auckland, NZ
3. Tauranga (Rotorua), NZ
4. Napier, NZ
5. Wellington, NZ
6. Picton, NZ
7. Akaroa, NZ
8. Port Chalmers (Dunedin), NZ
12. Burnie, TAS
13. Melbourne, VIC
14. Sydney, NSW

NB: Akaroa is a replacement for the originally scheduled stop of Christchurch, as the wharf at Christchurch was recently badly damaged in the earthquake.

There will be presentations throughout the cruise whilst at sea. The following page is NOT the final list of confirmed talks, but a rough working list, which will give an idea of the range of subjects we'll be covering: www.unlockthepast.com.au/events/history-and-genealogy-cruise-november-2011-scottish-irish-theme/conference-program

Still plenty of time to sign up, and I hope to see a few of you there!

Chris
