I've penned a small article entitled Land Inheritance in Scotland on my other blog, Walking in Eternity, which may be of interest to those doing Scottish research. It outlines the very different system used for the inheritance of land in Scotland compared to the other three nations of the United Kingdom, and the sorts of records that this generated as a result. There is no equivalent for them in England, Wales or Northern Ireland, with their having been generated under the authority of Scots Law.

The full article is available at - hope it helps!
