Reconstructing Lives exhibition

Edinburgh Castle will be hosting a new exhibition from March 9th 2012 to Feb 13th 2013 entitled Reconstructing Lives, which will examine the history of those who lost limbs in wartime, both military and civilian. The exhibition will look at everything from 'peg legs' of Roman times to the developments of medical advances in the 19th century, and amongst the many features on display will be a 16th century iron limb and a modern bionic i-limb hand.

For more on the story visit the National Museums of Scotland website at www.nms.ac.uk/our_museums/war_museum/reconstructing_lives.aspx.
