Cutty Sark family history reunion

A family history reunion is to be held with descendants of many involved with the Cutty Sark clipper, now newly restored in London. For details on the story visit www.telegraph.co.uk/history/9276809/Families-from-Cutty-Sarks-history-traced-for-reunion.html.

There was a great documentary on BBC2 last night looking at the £50 million restoration project behind the clipper - if you missed it, check out the BBC iPlayer (UK residents only) to catch up with it in the next seven days. The iPlayer is at http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/, with the programme entitled Cutty Sark: National Treasure Reopened.

  1. A short video of the event is now online at http://merchantcantos.net/hsbc-cutty-sark-descendants-event. I make a (very) brief appearance at 1:11. Lest fellow genealogists colleagues are worried, I did use very many more sources than just BMDs - but they've cut me off mid sentence. My list was obviously too boring!
