2011 English and Welsh census statistics

The BBC has a piece on the statistical results of the recent 2011 census for England and Wales at www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-18838540 - the key headline is that the population of the two countries has risen to 56.1 million people, a rise of 3.7 million since 2001.

Check out the animation also at www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-18854073 which shows how the population has changed each decade since 1911.
